I combined three of my favorite metal working techniques along with two of my favorite metals. First, stamped the word BELOVED on the aluminum blank. Then I riveted the copper heart onto the piece. Then I made the bracelet chain using the Byzantine chainmaille weave using copper and stainless steel (my two fave metals).
Love how it turned out.
What did you do this weekend?
Lots of plans this weekend. But one thing I really need to do is create some jewelry. I’ve neglected my jewelry making of late, and I’ve got the itch. Tonight I’ll start by cleaning off my workspace and organizing a little. Tomorrow I may make some earrings or start a bracelet to match this steampunk inspired necklace.
What are your weekend plans? Anything fun? What is your favorite creative outlet?
The new order of moose antlers from Acadia Antlers arrived yesterday. All three dogs LOVE them!! And I love that they dissolve as they chew. The do not splinter like deer antlers.
According to Goodreads, I’m six books ahead of schedule for my 2018 reading challenge. Wow!!! Of course, taking the week of January 8 off work, and being at home with a sick hubby that week gave me plenty of time to read. A lot.
This week I was not quite the reading machine. But I did finish Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King and Nightshifted by Cassie Alexander. I can recommend both books to anyone who likes horror, thriller, suspense.
Yesterday I started Finders Keepers, King’s second book in the Mr. Mercedes trilogy. I can’t read it fast enough. Starts with a bang and keeps going. I read last night until my vision was so blurry I couldn’t distinguish letters on the page.
What are you reading this week? What is your favorite recent read? Have you read anything this year that touched you deeply?
Y’all I received a hat from Elizabeth Massie today that she hand knitted. I’m squeeing a lot. She is one of my all time favorite writers. Isn’t he hat adorable!!! It’s thick and warm.
So this hat is definitely a fave!!
What are you loving this week? And why?
Seriously grateful for good tires and four wheel drive!
