Getting into the nitty gritty for my 2018 plan. And, I’m excited!! I’m using a planner from Dragontree called Rituals for Living Dreambook and Planner. I love it!! Learn about it here. (No, I am not an affiliate and do not make any money if you click the link or buy the product.)
What I love about it is that in the pre-planning I wrote my short term and long term goals and dreams. Even the crazy ones, the far out ones, the ones I would never tell anyone. Then I decide what I want to accomplish in the next year, three years, ten years, lifetime. Then I focus on the next year, break that down into quarters, then months, then weeks. Drill those dreams down to a workable plan.
2018 is coming.
Are you ready?
Do you have a plan?
What’s your vision?
According to dictionary.com present means being, existing, or occurring at this time.
That’s my word for 2017. I spent some time this morning journaling about what I want this to look like for me in 2017. Here’s what I came up with.
- Limit Social Media
- Intentional TV
- Daily Prayer and Scripture Reading
- Intentional Self Care
- Give Attention to Those in my Life
Over the next few weeks I’m going to blog about each aspect above, breaking them down to components I identified this morning in my journal.
I’m so excited about learning to be present, to experience each moment as a gift from God, to learn to trust my own creativity to lead me.
Do you have a word or phrase for 2017? Some guiding concept for how you want to focus your life in the coming year? Share in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
Changing it up a bit from Friday Favorites to Fab Friday. Why? Just feels right.
Bought the Simplify and Intentional Life Planner downloads from Abby at Just a Girl and Her Blog. She does amazing printables. While she offers many printables for free on her site, she does do some paid downloads a couple of times per year.
I’m working on goals, and how to get to where I want to be in ten years (or less). I don’t want to be at retirement age with no way to retire. Honestly, I’d like to retire from traditional healthcare early and enjoy life for a while.
So check out Abby’s blog. Check out her printables. See what you think.
How are you staying on track with your goals? Do you write them down with detailed plans? Do you have a vision board? What’s your scheme?
One week social media restriction update: I feel free! Really. I knew I spent way too much time on social media, but I had no idea how it impacted me. With the exception of one day, I’ve spent no more than 30 minutes total on social media, most specifically Facebook.
I feel much less stressed. That may be partially because I follow several dog rescues who frequently post dogs in need of urgent help. Definitely worthy work. But that kind of sadness takes a toll.
I’ve also written more, with a little more clarity.
I’m going to continue my 30 minutes a day of social media experiment for at least another month.
Have you ever imposed a social media restriction on yourself? Do you use social media intentionally or is it a place you just hang out? Do you feel like your time on social media is productive? Do you favor one social media site over the others?
Perhaps knowing on September 16 I will turn fifty years old triggered something in my psyche. Perhaps realizing over half my life expectancy is gone, and I have not truly pursued the dreams of my twenties brought on this angst. Perhaps I’m in the throes of a midlife crisis.
I’m done with what if. I’m done with panicking over the thought of lying on my deathbed crying for the lost daydreams of my youth.
Time to figure out what I want out of the rest of my life and do it.
First big step-get out of the day job. It’s killing me by millimeters. So it’s gotta go. Or rather I’ve gotta go. I’m giving myself a year to find another way to make a living. A way that feeds me instead of depletes me.
First day-to-day step-further develop a healthy lifestyle. Lose this last 20-30 pounds. Find an exercise routine I enjoy that doesn’t include running. (My back just won’t let me run.) Come out as an essential oil user. Chronicle how essential oils help me recover my health.
Take the sentiment below to heart. This is my new motto.
